Einstein, the dog who played Cain in Red Dead Redemption 2, has died-

Einstein Barnes, the dog who played Cain in Rockstar’s Western epic Red Dead Redemption 2, has died. News of Einstein’s passing was shared on Instagram by his owner and coworker, RDR2 animator Jason Barnes.

“Einstein was truly one of a kind,” Barnes wrote. “From the moment we met, we formed a deep bond, and it was clear that we were destined for countless adventures together.

“Though our time together has come to an end, your memory will live on forever. Red Dead Redemption 2 may immortalize you as Cain, but it is the memories we created together that truly preserve your spirit. The lessons you taught me about loyalty, love, and living life to the fullest will never be forgotten.”

Barnes told PC Gamer that he first encountered Einstein, then named Hero, at a shelter wh…

24 years later, you can finally pet the dog in Deus Ex thanks to its all-encompassing Randomizer mod-

Deus Ex’s Randomizer Mod has always been more than just a randomizer: its QoL features, mod compatibility, and customization options make it a one-stop shop for keeping Ion Storm’s classic fresh. The Randomizer’s 3.0 update, released just ahead of Deus Ex’s 24th birthday, has even more features that will appeal to anyone, not just challenge runners.

Yes, now you can pet the cyberpunk RPG’s delightfully low-res dogs, as well as cats and pigeons out there on the mean streets of New York, Hong Kong, and Gay Paree. I haven’t had a chance to load up the new update myself and see if this love fest extends to Deus Ex’s many rats as well, but you can always just rotate one around in your mind to help focus.

Watch On

A real sleeper benefit of the 3.0 update is the quality of…

Here’s something to do while you wait for Diablo 4- Plot out Diablo 4 characters with this incredibly handy build planner tool-

My secret for success in Diablo 4 is simple: Barbarian, Bash, Upheaval, rinse and repeat until there’s nothing but blood and gristle as far as the eye can see. Trust me, it works. Some people prefer a more complicated approach to min-maxing their action-RPG stand-ins, though, and for them, this Diablo 4 build planner will be extremely helpful.

The Diablo 4 Character Skill Tree Planner/Calculator, as it’s formally known, enables you to experiment with character builds even while Diablo 4 itself is currently unavailable. It offers a dropdown box where you can select your class—Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Rogue, or Sorcerer—and a duplicate of Diablo 4’s twiggy zig-zag skill tree. Use the mouse wheel to zoom the skill tree in and out, and click and drag to move it aroun…

Helldivers 2 director says new de-listings are an ‘administrative error correction’ by Valve on Sony’s orders, but ‘we still want the game to be available everywhere’-

Sony may have walked back its disastrous decision forcing Helldivers 2’s PC players to link their accounts to PlayStation Network, but this hasn’t stopped the game from remaining delisted on Steam in several countries where PSN is not available. Now, as more countries are added to that blacklist, it’s been put upon Arrowhead CEO to discover this was “an administrative error correction” by Valve to comply with Sony’s demands.

To briefly summarize this messy affair, Sony originally planned for PC players on Helldivers 2 to link their accounts to PSN. But when the game suffered extensive launch issues, that mandate was temporarily waived. At the start of May, Sony suddenly decided to reinstate the requirement, resulting in Helldivers 2 being delisted from 177 countries.

Intel denies Lunar Lake laptop chip delay but reports say Arrow Lake could actually go on sale first-

Last week, reports emerged that Intel’s Lunar Lake had been delayed. Now Intel has responded, claiming that the new mobile chip remains on schedule. Meanwhile, Intel’s next desktop CPU, Arrow Lake, will reportedly go on sale in October. Could it actually beat Lunar Lake to market?

Speaking to Digitimes (via Benchlife), the chip giant said, “Intel’s upcoming client processor (code-named Lunar Lake) has not been delayed. As disclosed earlier, Lunar Lake-based systems will start shipping in Q3 for the Holiday Season.”

So, has Lunar Lake been delayed or not? Part of the confusion may relate to the distinction between shipping the chips themselves and the availability of fully built devices, in this case typically laptops, powered by Lunar Lake.

Obviously, Intel will begin …

Dragon Age- The Veilguard leads say it will be ‘mission-based’ rather than open world, with no fetch quests or busywork- ‘You’re not going to be gathering shards in the Hinterlands’-

After years of concept art teasers and news of personnel changes, the next Dragon Age is finally real and imminent. While many of us on the team aren’t yet fully sold on Dragon Age: The Veilguard, a recent Q&A with some of its senior staff indicates that they’re keen to respond to one of Dragon Age: Inquisition’s biggest criticisms.

When asked if The Veilguard would be open world, game director Corinne Busche replied that, “We’ve gone back to what we believe delivers the best, most curated, intense narratives.” Busche characterizes The Veilguard as being “mission based,” but with players able to come back and revisit areas. “You can go back, solve mysteries, do some really great side content—not fetch quests, not grind quests—some really great side co…
